Canadian Firearms Safety course (CFSC) (Non-restricted, prerequisite course for Restricted course)
1-day course: 8am to 8pm
This is the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) course and exam. In classroom training is mandatory and applicants are no longer eligible to complete a challenge test.
If you want the gun licence for rifles and shotguns, this is the course for you! Non-restricted firearms are long guns that can be used for hunting, or at shooting ranges, private land or crown land.
This course is designed to familiarize students with the safe use procedures, handling and storage of non-restricted firearms (rifles and shotguns) and ammunition.
This course is introductory and cover the basics of firearms safety including, but not limited to:
basic firearms safety practices
ammunition types and storage
operating firearm actions
safe handling procedures and carrying positions
responsibilities of the firearms owner/user
safe storage, display, transportation and handling of firearms
This stand-alone CFSC is intended for persons who only want to own, shoot or hunt with long guns (non-restricted shotguns and rifles).
